LowCountry Pit Bull rescue
“A breed of satin and steel, pit bulls are a mixture of softness and strength, an uncanny combination of fun, foolishness, and seriousness all wrapped up in love.”
-D. Caroline Coile

We are seeking a foster home for a mommy Pit Bull and her 7 puppies (2-3 wks old).  She is sitting in a shelter and will ONLY be released to a reputable rescue.

BREEDERS, this is your chance to help a rescue.  We need someone with the experience and space to handle 7 very young puppies with their momma.  This is a 1-2 month fostering commitment.  We will be able to move the puppies and mom into various other foster homes once they are 8wks old, but they HAVE to stay with their mom until they reach 8wks.  We do not adopt out puppies until they are 12wks old, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.  Momma will be spayed as soon as she's done nursing.

If you can help, please contact LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue by e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , and fill out the foster home application on our website, located on the Foster Home link to the left.  LCPBR will pay for all vetting costs for momma & puppies, but we ask that foster parents buy food.

We normally prefer that our foster homes be IN the Charleston area, but in this type of situation, we will consider foster homes in surrounding areas as well, within 1hr driving distance, i.e. Walterboro, Horry County, Orangeburg, etc.  We will consider these foster homes because these puppies will not be available for adoption until they are 12wks old.

LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue is a non-profit organization formed on April 27, 2007, under the laws of the State of South Carolina. LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue is dedicated to rescuing American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers.  View our Certificate of Incorporation here. LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue's main focus is to restore these dogs to great mental and physical health, then find them loving, permanent homes. LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue is supported 100% by public donations.  We raise funds to pay for the vet care, housing, and nutritional needs of our dogs.  For every couple of healthy dogs we get, there is one that needs extensive vet care.  Your donations, combined with adoption fees, pay for the vet care when an ill dog enters our program.  We are not a for-profit organization.  Every donation and adoption fee we get goes into caring for our dogs.  For an example of how your donations and adoption fees are used, click here. LowCountry Pit Bull Rescue stays very full.  We cannot accept any new dogs until we have more approved foster homes.  If you are interested in becoming a foster home, click on Foster Home link to the left.  We keep a waiting list which is usually several weeks long.  If you have a dog that needs to be taken in, it will be several weeks, sometimes longer, before we can help you.  We are happy to place you on our waiting list if you are willing to foster the dog and the dog passes our temperament testing.  We are currently working on a webpage to display our waiting list.  Look for it soon. If you wish to give up your dog, or have found a stray dog, please read our intake policies here
